Technical Papers
Technical papers provide overviews of EPOC technology, and how to use it. A number of technical papers are currently available from the technical papers homepage on http://www.symbian.com/epoc/papers/papers.html.

Topics include overviews of EPOC Release 5 and its core technology, applications, applications technology, communications design and implementation; what's new in EPOC Release 5, which is of particular interest to developers who are migrating their programs from previous SDKs; and EPOC's basic design patterns, including Active Objects and management of C++ APIs.
The EIKON Application Style Guide, which is important reading for all applications developers, is included with this SDK. EIKON is the standard EPOC graphical user interface. This paper describes the user interface design issues posed by small-screen devices.
