EPOC Tools & Utilities
EPOC provides a number of programming language-neutral tools which support application development, localisation, and deployment.
These include the Aleppo Help authoring tool, which is used to create and localise application help files; and the Makesis application packaging tool, which is used to simplify application installation and removal for end users.
C++, Java, and OPL developers will all use the application resource tools to create resources for EPOC applications. These tool include rcomp, the resource compiler, and aiftool, the application information file compiler.
Finally, the file conversion utilities may be useful to anyone needing to provide conversions between EPOC, Windows, and other standard file formats.
This documentation, current to EPOC Release 5, provides a complete guide to using these tools. It includes overviews, step-by-step examples, and comprehensive command and syntax references.
